To introduce the problems, I would start by presenting a scenario to the students.
The last couple of weeks, Mary has been staying after school to work on lesson plans, the yearbook club, and collegiate assignments. Overwhelmed by all of her duties, she does not have time to pack a lunch. Therefore, she has been picking up a burger and fries from the local hamburger spot down the street from school. By the end of the day, she is hungry again so she grabs a bag of powdered donuts out of the vending machine. If Mary continues with these choices, what type of impact could this have on her life?
